Hills and Stars will win the 2012 Indian Derby

Hills And Stars (Razeen-Altitude) Trainer: Vinayak Jockey: Richard Hughes She is an attractive and athletically built bay colored filly possessing an excellent temperament, terrific stamina and a terrific turn of foot which will see her winning The 2012 McDowell Indian Derby (Gr.1). Her career record shows that she is the winner of three races from five starts, plus she has finished a good 2nd over 1400M and an excellent fast finishing and an eye-catching close 4th in her last endeavour in the Indian 1000 Guineas, both trips which were too sharp for her liking, as her optimum trip is between 2000M to 2400M.

Nonetheless, her first victory over 1800M was on 4th April 2011 where she trounced the opposition by a widening eight lengths stopping the clock at a speedy one minute 51.36 seconds. Thereafter, she won both her races in the 2011 Pune Season, the first one in superb style over a mile and then she easily clinched the 2000M Nanoli Stud Pune Derby (Gr.1) in a splendid time of two minutes 03.78 seconds.

Browsing over pedigree, her late champion ‘sire’ Razeen needs no introduction and her ‘dam’ Altitude is the dam of Flashing Star, a winner of four races incl. Bangalore Derby (Gr.1), Breeders Produce Stakes (Gr.2), Shapoorji Pallonji Breeders Colts’ Championship (Gr.3) and Mysore 2000 Guineas (Gr.3). Furthermore, her dam’s tail line goes down to the likes of- Icing who was the winner of Fillies Mile (Gr.1) at Ascot (G.B.) and Leopards town Stakes (Gr.3) at Ireland. Therefore, the exquisitely bred, stamina packed Hills and Stars who is very fit and raring to go, will win this years 2012 McDowell Indian Derby (Gr.1) in scintillating style.
