Power winner of the Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas
Oasis Dream’s Power, produced a tremendous dash towards the final stages, to win the G1 Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas at Curragh in a spectacular fashion. Aidan O’Brien’s stable put up an impressive show in the Guineas, finishing first, third and fourth. Joseph O’Brien rode a very confident race to drive Power to victory.
Daddy Long Legs, the winner of the UAE Derby and Power’s stable mate, set a strong pace and was driven out inside the last two furlongs. Power raced towards the rear early and made headway to be in sixth by the time they got to the half-way mark. Moving closer to be in fourth one furlong out, O’Brien junior manoeuvred his way through the field and sped past to take the lead along the rails in the final 100 yards. Foxtrot Romeo took the runner-up berth, ahead of Reply while Daddy Long Legs finished fourth.
