"My Stable": A New Look at Old-fashioned Handicapping
By Indiarace Bureau

Prakash Gosavi

Indiarace brings to you "My Stable", a unique handicapping column conceptualized by Prakash Gosavi, the renowned racing writer and columnist of MID DAY, Mumbai. The special column will appear on every race day of the on-going Bangalore Summer season starting this Saturday, June 2, 2012.

Prakash Gosavi, originator of Dynamic Handicapping & FINOO (click here for more info), the two novel concepts that he recently combined successfully to yield an ROI (return on investment) of 45%"* on the recommended bets** in his handicapping column at the RWITC website (click here) during the Mahalaxmi racing season 2011-12, now wishes to bring his unique insights to the old-fashioned way of handicapping: watching races, making trip notes, monitoring track trials & change of equipment, and trying to guess the trainer intent.

For this experiment, Gosavi will begin by choosing for his stable called 'My Stable'a few of the horses currently stationed at Bangalore, and monitor all details relating to their progress or decline on the trial track as well as the racetrack, upgrading the stable every week by adding or throwing out some horses. More interestingly, he will constrain himself and focus only on the horses from his stable, completely disregarding their rivals, and share in his column on the morning of the race day which of them he will bet or not bet on (and why).

Only time will tell if Prakash Gosavi can manage to extend his successful run. But knowing his passionate quest and unique ways to solve the handicapping puzzle will definitely make this experiment worthwhile to watch.

* Based on bookmakers' odds at Mumbai as listed on the official RWITC site, the profit @ BTC tote odds was 43%
** Although the column started on November 13, the recommended bets format started on December 1, 2011.
