Most Improved (Kieren Fallon Up), winner of the St James's Palace Stakes Gr.1

Kieren Fallen was back to winning ways at the Royal Ascot after a drought of nearly two years, riding out Brian Meehan trained Most Improved to victory in the G1 St.James’s Palace Stakes. The race was marred by a misfortune in which Khallid Abdullah’s The Nile had to be put down after injuring his front leg 2 furlongs out. The favourite Power and Fencing were hampered badly by the incident and could never recover.

Most Improved tracked the leaders and moved to second over four furlongs out and shot ahead inside the last two furlongs and kept going towards the finish to win by three parts of a length from Hermival who found the winner too hot to collar. Gregorian finished third while Born To Sea finished on in fourth.

"He's a lengthener rather than a quickener. I've ridden him at home and I know how good he is. He's a beautiful mover and has a great attitude. He's going to keep improving," said Fallon who was cherishing his 29th Royal Ascot win.
