Imran Khan started the day with Power Ranger and repeated the performance on John Galt, thus claiming both the divisions of the Osman Sagar Cup. Power Ranger took charge within 100 metres after the start and warded off John’s challenge on Kohinoor Diamond. Bentota came from nowhere to finish a close third. John Galt gave the first win of the day for trainer Anupam Sharma. Page Three, Mr. Chief, Cygnet, John Galt and Anguna were all grouping up nearing the 250 metres. From there John Galt shot clear to extend the margin and win. Anguna moved to take the second spot, while Jugnu flashed on very late, covering a lot of ground to finish third, ahead of Cygnet. Anupam won the last race of the day on Dhruthiman, thus completing a double. Green Mist racing in front, in the last 200 metres, was challenged and passed by Dhruthiman in the final 50 metres. Dancing Harbour and The Beatles Angel filled the frame. Donald Netto kept his tally ticking with two wins on Sunday. Temple Bells got her second consecutive win of the season, winning the higher division of the Onnu Onnu Onnu Plate. In a very close finish, Temple Bells managed to hang on by a slender margin from Kohinoor Delight. Entering the home stretch, Vendetta surged ahead of Dating, opening a two-length lead. The hard riding of P.S. Chouhan brought Temple Bells into contention in the last 100 metres and after surging forward had to fight off the strong challenge of Kohinoor Delight. The two went past the winning post locked together and the judge’s verdict went in favour of Temple Bells by the shortest of margins. Dash on Regardless and Vijaysiddanth took the minor placing in a close finish amongst themselves. Top Shape gave a double for Netto, winning the Tribute Plate. Top Shape took over the running at 800 metres from home and played ‘catch me if you can’ with the rest. Radical Player moved from the rear to finish second. Citi Dancer and Yours Mine N Ours were in futile chase throughout and filled the frame. Star Prospect, the first two year-old from Prasad Raju’s yard to take the track this winter, made every post a winning one in the Chaitanya Ratham Plate. Rosemead was very troublesome at the gates and lost half her energy, throwing tantrums before she could be loaded. Rosemead got closer towards the finish but found struggling for that extra dash. Vijay Dhanush held on from Reality Show to win the lower division of the Onnu Onnu Onnu Plate. Star Senora was a tame third. Yippee had taken charge on the straight and was looking to upset in the lower division of the Ballo Plate when Tell me a Tale and Divine Ganges came up fast covering a lot of ground and the first named got the better at the finish. Divine Ganges finished second ahead of Yippee. |
