After a break of a fortnight, racing action resumes at The Bangalore Turf Club on Friday with a packed card of nine events framed for the afternoon. The upper division of The Nilgiri's Trophy, a sprint event for horses five years old and over in Class II, has been given the pride of place as the day's feature. The race has attracted ten runners, and most of them are closely matched. However, current season form points towards Classical Dancer, Another Destiny and Distinctly Ahead being marginally better than the rest.
Classical Dancer was fairly consistent in recent months and has been performing creditably. He finished second in his previous start, and suggested his readiness to strike again. Another Destiny won a couple of races and was propelled to Class I. He ran a forward race in the highest Class but was unable to figure on the board. Another Destiny reverts to the lower class on Friday, and is expected to put in a better performance. Distinctly ahead flopped as a favourite last time, but that looked like an aberration, as this speedy customer is capable of a much better show. The day's feature is best left alone from a betting perspective, as winner picking looks like a hazardous task.
