A long card of nine events awaits racegoers on the concluding day of the Mysore Summer Season. Many horses, 6 years old and over, were shifted from other centres and had arrived before the commencement of the season. This had resulted in big fields, keen finishes, unexpected results and stiff competition during the past couple of months. The Mysore Race Club will get a little more than three weeks to gear up for the Main season, which commences on August 14th 2008.
A sprint race for horses in the highest class at Mysore happens to be the main event on Wednesday. Rakesh trained Satin Slipper stands out amongst the dozen runners that have accepted to face the starter. Satin Slipper has been running very good races, and has been a trifle unfortunate in not picking up a race so far in the season. She was set to win her last start, before she had met with severe interference from a tiring Tantrik and Miami Gold. Satin Slipper is selected as the day's best betting proposition.
