( Race No 1  of the day )

Weights raised by 1 Kg - Weights lowered by 1 kg.

Odds at Race Time: Ruby Rocket 2-1, Tigress Noire 5/2 & Ivanka 5-1.

As usual wild temper called the shots to Tigress Noire, Ruby Rocket, Native Strategy, Call To Arms and Ivanka gracing the rear. Tigress Noire took over the running at the top of the straight and stepped up the lead to two lengths followed by Ruby Rocket not getting responded to urgings, Cosmopolitan coming up but not threatening and Call To Arms making good progress. Tigress Noir held narrowly from Call To Arms in a tight finish. Ruby Rocket finished third ahead of Wild Temper.

IVANKA (Malcolm Kharadi) was slow in the stride, losing about 2 lengths at the start.

Approaching the 800 metres, COSMOPOLITAN (Neeraj Rawal) shifted in, which resulted in tightening of IVANKA (Malcolm Kharadi) who lost position. Jockey Neeraj Rawal has been fined Rs.3000/- for failing to exercise proper control over his mount.

CALL TO ARMS (Aadesh Kumar) lugged-in in the straight. Trainer S.K.Sunderji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the gelding.

Jockey Aadesh Kumar (CALL TO ARMS) was observed to have used his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. When questioned, the jockey stated that he had used his whip as a corrective measure as his horse was lugging in, as such no action has been initiated against the jockey beyond reminding him of the notice with regard to the loss of whip.

Jockey P.S.Chouhan (TIGRESSE NOIRE) has been fined Rs.3000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. (2nd Offence).

Odds at Race Time: Algo Mas 5/4, Jewel Star 4-1.

Algo Mas called the shots to Blazing Speed, kadima, Fire God, Jewel Star and the rest. Blazing Speed brought them to view followed by Algo Mas coming up on the far side with the rest some three lengths behind. Algo Mas took over the running and sailed for an impressive overdue victory. Blazing Speed stayed form for the second place ahead of Fire God and Honeyday.

BEAU MONDE (Satish Nayak) took a fly jump and lost about 5 lengths at the start. Tr.Narendra Lagad has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and to show him to the satisfaction of the Starter during morning trials, before next accepting to race. 

App.Kishore Kadam (ALGO MAS) has been cautioned for improper use of the whip wherein he has allowed his mount to shift out under the use of the whip in the final stages of the race. 

After the race, BEAU MONDE was observed to have broken a blood vessel and is not to race for the stipulated period of 4 weeks. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, FIRE GOD  was observed to be sore by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

SENTINEL 11/03/2008 COLIC - - SOLOR 18/01/2008 JOINT INJECTION - - STAR IMPACT 10/02/2008 COLIC - - STAR IMPACT 11/02/2008 COLIC - - FOREST NATIVE 25/11/2007 FEVER - - FOREST NATIVE

Odds at Race Time: Sentinel 12/10, Snow Blind 4-1, rest 5-1 and over.

El Bunduq led the field followed by Snow Blind, Sentinel, Solor, Sparkler and the rest. El Bunduq brought them to view with a clear two lengths lead over Snow Blind fading out and Sentinel improving with the rest some three lengths behind. Sentinel shook off El Bunduq and stretched out further under hard riding to score. Star Impact covered enormous ground to finish close behind Sentinel well clear of El Bunduq and Sir Taj.

Jockey K.P.G.Appu (EL BUNDUQ) was observed to have shifted in before the red marker. Since no interference was caused, he has only been cautioned to be more careful in the future.

After the race Jockey P.S.Chouhan (SNOW BLIND) reported that his horse did not hold the bit and had not responded to his urgings. The Sr.V.O. was asked to examine the filly for any abnormality.

The Sr.V.O. reported that SNOW BLIND was examined after the race and found to be sound. The filly was observed to have wolf tooth on either side of her mouth.

TEARAWAY 01/04/2008 JOINT INJECTION -

Odds at Race Time: Born To Lead 9/4, Arabian Pride 4-1, others 5-1 and over.

The Brave Heart was the fastest to take the lead from the outer draw and led by two lengths followed by Tearaway, Premier Perception, Amberley, Born To Lead and the rest. The Brave Heart striding out well in front as they came to view with a clear two lengths lead followed by Amberley shifting out, Red Dawn, Tearaway and Arabian Pride. The Brave Heart kicked on gamely to win in impressive style from Arabian Pride, Tearaway and Catalunya.

RED DAWN (J.Chinoy) was restless and kept rearing up after being stalled. The gelding took a fly jump and lost about 2 lengths at the start. Tr.Dallas Todywalla has been asked to give the gelding more gate practice and to show him to the satisfaction of the Starter during morning trials, before next accepting to race.

BORN TO LEAD (App.Kishore Kadam) also took a fly jump and lost about 2 lengths at the start. 

Jockey I.Shaikh (ARABIAN PRIDE) has been fined Rs.3000/- for using his whip in excess of the prescribed limit on his mount. (2nd Offence). He has been fined a further sum of Rs.2000/ for  improper use of the whip wherein passing the 200 metres he has used the whip with the right hand while his mount was shifting out and in the process hampered the running of AMBERLEY (C.S.Jodha).

Jockey Sunny Chinoy (CATALUNYA) has been cautioned for not being vigorous on his mount in the straight.

Odds at Race Time: Needforspeed 9/4, Xiamen 13/4, others 5-1 and over.

Paris Hilton shot to the front and led by three lengths followed by Xiamen, Rave On, Naseebdar, Cabinda, Needforspeed and the rest. Paris Hilton brought them to view with a clear three lengths lead followed by Xiamen, Rave On, Cabinda, Gypsy Queen and the rest. Paris Hilton won impressively despite shifting out to the center of the track from Cabinda, Rave On and Gypsy Queen.

FASHION STREET (Amyn Merchant) planted and lost a distance at the start. Trainer Ivor Fernandes has been asked to give the filly more gate practice and show her to the satisfaction of the Starter in a Mock Race, before next accepting to race.

Trainer Narendra Lagad has been fined Rs. 1000/- for giving permission to his jockey, Nadeem Alam to be declared by two trainers in the same race.

MAVERICK (J.Pradeep) jumped out awkwardly towards the inside. Trainer Hosidar Daji has been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race the filly.

App. Kishore Kadam (RAVE ON) has been severely reprimanded for shifting in before the red marker.

PARIS HILTON (C.S.Jodha) and GYPSY QUEEN (A.J.Nilesh)  hung out in the straight. Trainers Subhag Singh and Faisal A.Abbas have been asked to take remedial measures before next accepting to race their respective charge.

Jockey K.P.G.Appu (CABINDA) reported that his saddle slipped back during the race. As such Trainer Faisal A Abbas has been fined Rs. 2000/- for faulty saddling of his charge.

Trainer Subhag Singh when questioned about the improved performance of his charge (PARIS HILTON). The Trainer stated that after the previous race, the Jockey had informed him that the horse may run a good race if ridden from the front and accordingly he had instructed Jockey C.S. Jodha to ride from the front in this race which may have suited the horse. He further stated that the horse was available at longer odds. He opined that this field was weak and there was no common horse. The explanation was noted.

After the race, NASEEBDAR was observed to be going short by the right fore leg. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

After the race, NEEDFORSPEED was observed to have lost her right hind plate.

Odds at Race Time: Ekhabinskya 75/100, Antonios 9/2.

Ekhabinskya shot to the front with plenty of speed to lead the field by four lengths followed by Yankee Lane, Dynamite, Snowinsky, Antonios and the rest. Ekhabinskya was well clear as they came to view with five lengths lead but suddenly started shortening strides was passed by Yankee lane with Antonios covering ground with a sustained run as they pass the 300m. Antonios took over the running soon and stretched out in fine fashion to win in emphatic style. Yankee Lane stayed on second ahead of Ekhabinskya.

On arrival at the starting gate, GOLDEN GRACE (A.J.Nilesh) was examined by the Club’s V.O. and found to be sore by the right fore leg. As such, the filly was certified unfit to race and hence was withdrawn on veterinary grounds, before coming under the Starter’s order. The filly has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

Jockey Neeraj Rawal (FORCE OF LAW) reported loss of whip passing the 600 metres. Since the horse was out of contention, no action has been taken against the Jockey beyond reminding him of the notice with regard to the loss of whips.

After the race, REAL DREAM was observed to be sore by the right fore leg. The colt has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

( Race No 7  of the day )

Odds at Race Time: Simply Perfect 14/10, Binee 5-1, Hisham 6-1.

Up North led the field with Hisham on the haunches three lengths behind Quaoar, Varun, Mercedes, Mubarras and the rest with the favorite Simply Perfect scrubbed and whipped from the start. Up North brought them to view with Hisham ranging alongside, two lengths behind Mercedes on the rails Mubarras & Varun on the far side. Mercedes took over the running as they pass the 250 m for a comfortable victory from Binee coming up well from the rear to take the second spot ahead of Up North and Mubarras.

OPERA ROYALE (F.Irani) was slow in the stride, losing about a length at the start.

The urine sample of winner of 6th & 7th race viz. ANTONIOS & MERCEDES and the special sample of COSMOPOLITAN, RUBY ROCKET & IVANKA (1st race), BEAU MONDE (2nd race), SNOW BLIND (3rd race), EKHABINSKYA (6th race) and SIMPLY PERFECT (7th race), were collected for detection of prohibited substance.
