Silver Birch, trained by Pesi Shroff has returned with a satisfactory stint in Bangalore this summer and should be fit for his Pune campaign. He starts off with an important assignment in the FD Wadia Trophy, a seven-furlong race for three year olds. He is encountering an enterprising bunch; however, he has the best chance of making a winning start in Pune. He gave a good account of himself while in Bangalore winning his first run there by a street. He then finished a close third In the Colts Trials and in the Kingfisher Bangalore Derby once again finished in the money though well beaten by Borsalino.

He has not hit the turf too frequently on the morning track currently, but whatever little seen of him has shown that all is well with him. Coming from a top yard with B Prakash to guide his fortunes, one can’t resist but nominate him as the day’s best betting proposition.
