Nureyev was champion 3 year old colt in France and achieved the title of ’leading sire in France’ twice. He has sired 103 stakes winners, 5 champions, and 381 winners of 1025 races, including, THEATRICAL, SOVIET STAR (Sire of ASHKALANI), SOVIET LAD, POLAR FALCON, SPINNING WORLD, PIENTRE CELEBRE, ZAGREB, and so on.
Out of the multiple group placed winning dam Shy Princess by twice champion sire IRISH RIVER. Shy Princess placed 2nd in Prix Morny (Gr.1) and 3rd in Prix du Meautry (Gr.3).
She was rated 117 in RACEHORSES of 1986.
DIFFIDENT’s Dam is half sister to OPENING VERSE, SO SHE SLEEPS and DANGEROUS DAWN.
OPENING VERSE hit the headlines in 1991, after winning the Breeders’ Cup Mile (Gr.1). He also won Oaklawn H (G. 1), Razorback H (Gr.2), Early Times Turf Classic S (Gr.3), Fort Harrod S (Gr.3).
