Horses Recuperate from Dreaded Equine Influenza

For the racing professionals at the Delhi Race Club, equine Influenza is now gradually becoming a matter of past. Horses are recuperating from the big blow of the highly spreadable disease which has earlier created havoc In the National Capital Region (NCR). "To and Fro" of the horses have already been suspended till the disease, which catches by contact, comes under control. The contagious influenza made its presence felt first in Jammu and Kashmir before entering the NCR. Horses at the Army Polo Club and Equestrian Centre at the Delhi cantonment were affected secondly. The autumn season of polo calendar 2008 has been deferred and moreover, sports relating to horses have been put on hold. However, no new case has been reported at the race course as yet."Its our hard work which really going to pay dividends soon", an aspirant trainer, who did not wish to disclose his name on the site, told me. Now it is learnt that the way the equines are recovering from the dreaded flu, the horses will start taking up the task of doing practice. Meanwhile, the track has been closed till further notice by the authorities.
