Danehill Dancer’s Dancing Rain won the G2 Qipco British Champions Fillies’ & Mares’ Stakes in striking fashion. The Investec Oaks heroine proved that the victory was not out of the blue and silenced her critics, with a pillar to post win. Johnny Murtagh had Dancing Rain quickly in front, as the field was dispatched over the 1 ½ furlongs trip and showed the way to the rest with a steady gallop. As the heads turned for home, Bible Belt came out of the pack and posed a challenge but Dancing Rain gained momentum to stretch away when Johnny asked her for more. "I was not going to make a mess like I did in the Curragh. She has a very high cruising gear," said Johnny Murtagh.

William Haggas, who trains Dancing Rain for owners O-M J & L A Taylor said: "We think she is outstanding so that is fantastic. It is always a good ride when they are winning but Johnny was very cross after the Irish Oaks that he did not make enough use of her and when he came in after that he said he would not make the same mistake again. I think the plan now is to go to Japan [November 13]. She'll definitely be back next year."
