Dubawi’s Lucky Nine produced a blistering gallop towards the last 100 metres to win the G1 Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Sprint at Sha Tin race course in a pulsating finish involving three horses. Lucky Nine trained by Caspar Fownes travelled towards the rear during the early part of the 1200 metres. Nearing the turn for home Lucky Nine headed to join the front runners but was taken a bit wide by Joy and Fun. Jockey Brett Prebble got busy on Lucky Nine and the 4 year old challenged Entrapment strongly with Joy and Fun also joining the fight. The three headed towards the finish together and Brett squeezed that extra from Lucky Nine to get his head in front at the wire. Entrapment and Joy and Fun dead heated for the second place.

"There was always going to be speed with Rocket Man drawn wide," winning jockey Brett Prebble explained. "He missed the kick slightly and I was on the back foot from the start. Joy And Fun took me a bit wide on the turn but this horse is all heart and 100% credit to Caspar --he couldn't have had him any better."
