Trainers C.D.Monnappa and Micheal Eshwer saddled a double each, on a day which started off with outsiders but went kind to followers of money as the day progressed. Jockey D.K.Ashish was the most successful rider, booting home three winners, two of which were chance mounts. Hyderabad based rider A.Ashhad Asbar scored a brace.

Monnappa scored through Time To Time and Supreme Arch. Time To Time (Juniper-Loving Girl) won the S.V.Subramaniam Memorial Gold Cup, which featured the day’s races. Jockey R.Vaibhav had Time To Time along the inner rails, racing close to the leaders, went to lead the field as they entered the straight and quickly shook off the rest to win by a lengthening margin. Prost and Huckleberry Finn finished second and third respectively.

Monnappa was successful in pulling off a well chalked out gamble on Supreme Arch (Black Cash-Steatfast Lover) in the Anekal Plate. Perfect Analysis went on a start to finish bid over the six furlongs trip with Supreme Arch in close attendance. Unleashing a strong run in the centre of the track, Supreme Arch sped past the leader to give the rider A. Vishwanath his first win. The favourite Atom Bomb who was off to a lethargic start never looked to be in the hunt and finished third, many lengths behind Perfect Analysis. Just Great was withdrawn before the race.

Eshwer got a back to back double through Shaka Zulu and Legal Knight, both being ridden by D.K.Ashish replacing M.A.Milan who could not complete his engagements. Shaka Zulu (Alnasr Alwasheek-Bay of Angels) tracked the leaders Perfect Bond and High Treason till the final bend. As the field straightened up High Treason went ahead and was joined by Shaka Zulu. The two fought out the last 200 metres and D.K.Ashish was successful in forging ahead with Shaka Zulu to be three parts of a length in front at the finish. Perfect Bond did well to finish third. Vigoroso was withdrawn before the race.

Ashish did not find any difficulty in giving Legal Knight (Mull of Kintyre-Lovely Fantasy) its third straight victory from as many runs. Tornado Force, Youre A Legend and Enduring Speed raced closely as they came on to the home stretch and Legal Knight who was on their haunches produced a brilliant gallop to overhaul the trio with ease and win the Mudigere Plate. Enduring Speed towed on to finish second. Tornado Force finished third many lengths behind.

Ashish had started the day with a win on Bipin Salvi’s Altira (Ikhtyar-Pouilly Fume) in the Evita Plate, beating the favourite Sanatana by three parts of a length. The rider of Sanatana objected to the winner pushing him out repeatedly on the straight and the stewards not finding much substance in the case rightly overruled the objection. Golden Slipper was the first to take the initiative on entering the straight and was quickly joined by Altira who went ahead inside the last 300 metres. Sanatana started to make progress on the outside but the effort wasn’t enough to get past Altira.

Vikram Appachu’s Caldera (Hurricane State-I Have A Dream) scored an upset win in the Whitefield Plate. Ace High came into the straight first but could not hold on to the onslaught of Caldera who moved with big strides to upset. River Gem took the third spot ahead of the favourite Winning Tale who after taking a good jump fell back and made a tame effort around horses towards the closing stages.

S.Rakesh’s 8 year old Guided Missile (Hymn-Colonel’s Dream) who used to enjoy company in the highest class during his hay days produced a remarkable gallop inside the last 100 metres to deny a win to the favourite Emerald, in the Loyal Prince Plate. Euphoria led till the top of the straight and ended up third ahead of Behram.

Ranjeet Shinde’s Badda Rupaiyya (Western Verse-Tropical Dancer) weaved through horses from the rear, took the inner ground in the final furlong and streaked along, to lift the Grey Gaston Cup. Behram went on a start to finish bid, was joined by Passage Of Time and Time Matters on the straight and as they were involved in a duel Badda Rupaiyya floored them all to win. Passage Of Time finished second ahead Bahram and Time Matters.

Jockey A.Ashhad Asbar powered his way on Darashah’s Mystic Enchantress (Ontario-I Fear Nothing) to win on the chance mount. Time For All finished second and lodged an unsuccessful objection against the winner. Flash Flares went on a start to finish bid but couldn’t last out and finished third.
