Jockey Malesh Narredu powered Mr Greedy to a convincing victory in the Radha Sigtia Trophy, the day’s feature event. Skywards took over the running soon on start, and bolted away to build a run-away lead. The slow pace suited Mr Greedy to the hilt as Mr. Greedy (Placerville – Angel Heights) settled just behind Miles And More and Malesh kept a close watch on the lead established by Skywards. He improved gradually and was within two lengths of Skywards as they straightened for home. In the straight, Mr Greedy dominated all the way and once he sped past the leader near the 400, he never gave anyone any chance. Mr Greedy trounced the opposition effortlessly. Malesh Narredu then guided Musical Rhythm (Concordial – Musical Melody) to victory in the last race to score a good double. Biding his time patiently till into the straight, Malesh moved up to get past the leaders and once into the lead, he easily warded off all threats the main one coming form Es Sider. Yowza had a good forward run but failed to keep the momentum going to end one off the frame. Es Sider found the winner too good but ran a good second. Aristocratical impressed while coming form a long way back to finish on the haunches of the runner up. Forest Native was hard ridden to end in the judge’s frame. Daniel Grant was the other jockey to have scored a double. He seems to be making a habit of scoring consistently. He opened the day’s proceedings with a well-fought victory with Saba astride Highland Glory (Greensmith – Knowle Park). Imran Chisty, the rider of Saba showed great reflexes and saved himself from a nasty fall. Soon on start, Saba stumbled, nearly throwing the jockey off the saddle. Imran Chisty somehow managed to stay atop and quickly recovered his grip on the horse who fought it out with the winner till the end. Highland Glory improved form the fifth position to come within striking distance at the turn. Saba soon took over the running in the straight, but Highland Glory put in a sustained gallop to thwart the challenge from Saba. Danny then guided debutante Chotee Begum (China Visit – Naseem El Fajr) to an impressive victory in the MD Mehta trophy. Sitting close behind the leaders Opportunity and Peregrine Falcon, Chotee Begum moved alongside the rails. Grant was quick to go for the narrow gap that he found. He whipped the filly to get into rhythm and shot through at the distance post. Chotee Begum surged ahead readily and then drew away to win comfortably. Snow Queen (Steinbeck – Ithica) was the shortest priced winner of the day. Srinath seemed in no hurry as he let Bemisaal dart ahead to establish a good lead. Srinath got Snow Queen alongside the leader soon on straightening up and once into the lead proved elusive for the rest. Lone Monarch tried hard to catch up but failed to make any impression on the winner. Tara improved towards the end to run third. Uproar (Don Micheletto – Grand Start) put in a brave run to win the P A d’Avione trophy and held on to win from Any Time Money in a thrilling finish. Notable Runner led until the distance post where from Uproar shot ahead. Any Time Money was taking time to quicken and this was his undoing. The Antia ward had quickened well in the straight last time, but this time he struggled to get into a rhythm and by the time he got into top gear the winning post arrived. Uproar was up to the task and kicked on to post a narrow victory. Amaranza did well for a 11 year old, to come from behind to get past Notable Runner for the place money. Misschevious Trot (Storm Trooper – Puzla) won the TM Goculdas Plate beating Rubidium and warding off War Of Attrition. Settled into the fifth by jockey Nirmal Jodha, Misschevious Trot got into the striking position soon on straightening for home. Rubidium kicked on as Misschevious Trot challenged her lead and the duo fought hard before Misschevious Trot surged ahead in the final furlong. War Of Attrition came from a long way back but warmed up far too late to make the grade. However, he managed to peg back Rubidium for the runner-up berth.
