D.Netto trained Fashion High (Western Aristocrat-Amber Valley / Capricon Stud) was given a confident ride by Louis Beuzelin to slam the prestigious Godolphin Barb Million (Gr.3) at Hyderabad on Monday. A small field of four youngsters lined up for the seven furlongs race. Fashion High was quick to hit the front as the gates opened and the filly was followed by Palace On Wheels, That’s My Class and Hope Is Eternal. Passing the final furlong marker Fashion High was still in the lead and Beuzelin picked up the stick on finding Palace On Wheels and That’s My Class coming up with a challenge. Fashion High kicked on and went past the winning post three parts of a length ahead of Palace On Wheels. The favourite That’s My Class was third another neck adrift.

Trainer Netto led in a treble to be in contention for the race to the trainers’ championship. Netto along with Beuzelin had it easy on the short priced favourite Leading Legend (Multidimensional-Amstel) in the opener of the day, the Prince Khartoum Plate. The gelding that had won twice over seven furlongs from six starts proved to be good once again over the distance. Leading Legend settled in second last among the six runners while the grey Silver Dollar called the shots. Entering the home stretch Leading legend was pulled out to make a bid and the gelding responded readily to get into a fluent gallop and overhaul the front runners. Miracle King held on in second from Top Contender. Negress Pearl finished fourth.

Netto pulled off a surprise through Kalinda (Gaswar-Kilspindie) in the lower division of the Amarnath Gupta Memorial Cup. The 5 years old filly that had won last exactly a year ago raced towards the rear initially and improved gradually to run sixth as they turned for home. Inside the last 300 metres Azarenka and Green Striker were working hard to gain the advantage when Kalinda came with a good gallop to stride ahead and wrap it up by two lengths. Azarenka finished second while Green Striker ended up third. Dancing Farha was fourth further behind.

L.D’Silva trained Carolina Moon (Multidimensional-God’s Grace / Usha Stud) was the biggest upset of the day, paying a whopping Rs.238/- for a fiver on win at the tote. Dahlois set off on a start to finish bid over the grueling 2000 metres and brought the pack into view on the straight. Ashwa Ashoka was in chase and Carolina Moon slipped in to take the shortest route. Inside the last furlong Dahlois began to drift out under pressure and Carolina Moon moved ahead to hit the winning post first. While Dahlois held on in second Ashwa Ashoka finished a close third. Euro Zone got there late to make it to the frame in the same picture.

Ananta Vatsalya trained Amorous White (Stern Opinion-Adios Meadowlake) that had gone down narrowly in its last two runs made amends to clinch the third win of its career in the Mother’s Boy Plate. The grey colt jumped out smartly as the gates opened and hit the front to lead them all. Inside the last 200 metres Amorous White was still in front but Vancouver began to move up with a stiff challenge. Jockey P.S.Chouhan rode out Amorous White and the colt hit the winning post three parts of a length ahead of Vancouver. Southern Crown and Vallee Sceptre finished third and fourth respectively.

Laxman Singh trained Secret Art (Arazan-Risada) just managed to scrape through to score an encore in the Pakhsl Cup. Old Faithful got to the front early in the race and Secret Art settled in close attendance. Passing the 400 metres board on the straight Secret Art surged ahead and opened a gap of over two lengths over the nearest contender.  Mountain Of Light made a swift move close to the rails to improve position and was up with a challenge inside the last 200 metres. Secret Art’s lead was reduced at a fast pace by Mountain Of Light as they approached the post but Imran Chisty’s powerful push enabled the former to get there first by a ‘nose’. Gangadhar was third many lengths behind with Raja Hindustani ending up fourth in a close finish.

Jockey Nilesh Rawal rode K.S.V.Prasad Raju’s Divine Heights (Roi Maudit-Ceebros) to open her account in an impressive fashion in the division I of the Nilgiris Plate. Going into the lead within the first furlong Divine Heights brought them into the straight. The filly strode out easily and drew clear even as Oh Pharaoh made a vain bid towards the closing stages. Princess came in third followed by Cannon Hope.

S.S.Faisal Hassan trained Aalishaan (Abbeyside-Skyliner) that had failed to make it to the frame in eight starts so far came with a flourish to nail Rohini on the post. Rohini went on a start to finish bid and was looking good inside the last 200 metres. Aalishaan racing in about sixth or seventh till the top of the straight improved close to the rails and with a flying finish collared Rohini and beat her on the wire. Dawning Hope and War Lady finished third and fourth respectively.

Jockey P.Trevor got his solitary win through Ravinder Singh trained Royal Dynamite (Stern Opinion-Fashion Lady) in the concluding race of the day, the division II of the Mossy Banks Plate. General Salute was out in front right from the start and had a lead of over two lengths entering the final furlong. Royal Dynamite started to raise a gallop when Trevor began to work on it and bridging the gap at a fast pace sped past to wrap it up by a length. Golden Image and Vijay’s Triumph finished third and fourth respectively in a close finish.
