SURAJ RIDES DESTINED DYNAMITE TO VICTORY IN FEATURE

Trainer Arjun Anne leading Destined Dynamite (Suraj Narredu Up), winner of the Mysore Race Club Plate

Arjun Anne trained Destined Dynamite (Charmo-Desert Dynamite) scored an emphatic victory in the Mysore Race Club Plate, the feature of races at Mysore. Jockey Suraj Narredu had held back Destined Dynamite in about eighth or ninth till turning for home. Inside the last 400 metres Mirfield was the first to grab the initiative and raced to the front. Destined Dynamite started to make way through the field and with a terrific turn of foot stormed ahead and drew clear. Mirfield stayed on in second followed by Sweet March and Tiger.

K. Satheesh trained Meritocracy (Excellent Art-Mawaheb) was ridden confidently by Akshay Kumar to lift the Jockey Purtu Singh Parmar Memorial Cup. Jumping out from the innermost draw Meritocracy went to the lead over the mile trip. As they headed past the 1200 metres board the lead changed with Seven Eleven going ahead. Meritocracy stayed on in second close to the rails and as they turned for home the leader moved out a bit opening up a path along the rails. Meritocracy moved quickly towards the opening and after a duel with Seven Eleven surged clear. Batur was further behind in third followed by Juneau.

Athenaeus (Kingda Ka-Snow Cannon / Nanoli Stud) was impressive while scoring on debut in the Chaitanya Ratham Plate. The debutante was off the gates smartly and settled down in third when Semper Fidelis and Nimble Mind showed some early speed to move ahead. Athenaeus started to get closer to Semper Fidelis inside the last 300 metres and picking up mamontum sped past to win easily. Nimble Mind finished third followed by Jo Malone.

The fancied Treasure Striker (Sedgefield-Fabulous Fortune) from N. Ravinder Singh’s stables was ridden to victory by Fergus Sweeney too win the Bonzer Plate. Treasure Striker was ridden off the pace in third last as the field set out for the 2000 metres trip and further behind was Rutilant. As they turned for home Rutilant rushed through the shortest way and was quickly in the lead. Treasure Striker took a slightly longer route from the outside and battling out with Rutilant, travelled the better to win convincingly. Valee Tiger and Symbol Of Star’s finished third and fourth respectively.

Irish rider Fergus Sweeney had started the day with D. Netto trained Amazing Response (Lord Shanakill-Zing Wing) in the division I of the Crown Treasure Plate. The initial pace was good and Amazing Response raced in fourth or fifth while Star Gazer went on a start to finish bid. Star Gazer continued to kick on in the straight and Amazing Response started to raise a gallop from the outside. At one stage Star Gazer looked to be going good but Amazing Response ran true to his name when Sweeney gave a couple of cracks and got the better in the closing stages. Freedom Fire and Breaking News filled the frame in that order.

In the lower division M. Sathyanarayana trained Desert Moon (Rebuttal-Moonlit Mistress) pulled off an upset victory. Lord Gift went to the front from the start and Desert Moon joined up from the outermost draw. The two matched strides till into the last 200 metres and the latter ridden by Deepak Singh drew clear. The race favourite Free Eagle came in late but just missed the runner-up berth by a short-head. Wood Cutter completed the frame.

  S.S. Faisal Hassan trained Aalishaan (Abbeyside-Skyliner) won the division I of the Tribute Plate. Racing a handy fourth till entering the straight Aalishaan surged ahead from the inside, fought with Cashel for a brief while and stretched clear. Cannon Fury beat Glorious Grey in a close finish for the second place. Tough Sussex completed the frame. Pride And Joy was withdrawn just before the start.

Arjun Anne trained Negress Princess (West Virginia-Argentina) sporting the same colours as that of Aalishan gave her owners a double in the lower division. Into the straight Time Is Luck and Rohini were battling it out to gain the advantage. Negress Princess came charging from the outside and sped past them inside the last 200 metres. Cannon Grey came in late to take the second spot followed by Rohini and Time Is Luck.
