Trainer S Padmanabhan leading Isn't She Lovely (A Sandesh Up), winner of The M H Amarnath Memorial Trophy

Champion trainer Padmanabhan's Isn`t She Lovely reigned supreme in the M H Amarnath Memorial Trophy, the plum event run over a mile. The Indian 1000 Guineas winner La Rondine enjoyed the maximum support in the betting ring ahead of Isn't She Lovely, who was quoted at (7/2). The winner in the hands of Sandesh hit the front after the dozen runners came under the starter's flag and never let the initiative slip romping home a deserving winner.  La Rondine finished second ahead of Magistero, who now has started to produce consistent performances, while New Moon made the frame. Punjabi Girl met with interference and was badly bumped by Sea King who dislodged his rider Antony Raj half-way home. The Sulaiman Attaollahi ward could never recover from the blow and failed to display her true potential.

A goodtype of youngster, Cosmic Ray from Sulaiman's yard was sweetly fancied by the insiders and the right connections in the Sir Bruce Plate and the good looking chesnut filly, to the delight of her supporters made a winning debut, edging out the Hyderabad hopeful Victorious Sermon. The public rage Sir Supremo, who had run Impavid close in winter after being favourably placed at the top of the straight failed to quicken and finished a tame third. The winner appears to have the required class and potential to make her presence felt against the good fillies in this campus considering the fact that Cosmic Ray has tremendous scope for improvement.

Rajesh Narredu-trained Star Appearance and Foi Et Amour were fancied most in the Dharmaprakash L S Venkaji Rao Memorial Cup run over a sprint. The winner Star Appearance, who looked a picture of fitness at the paddock parade hit the front and cantered home. Foi Et Amour finished second and it will pay to follow this Padmanabhan ward when saddled next taking into account that she will benefit most after this exercise.

The Santorini Star Plate run over a sprint saw two rank outsiders from the stables of Sharat Kumar shock the followers of form much to the chagrin of punters.  After John guiding the fortunes of the second in demand at the betting ring Prodigal hit the ground immediately after the start and the overwhelming favourite Tonys Pet failing to display his true potential, Pink Smile in the hands of Ramesh Kumar assumed command in the final furlong and held on to score from stablemate Perfect King. Moraine Gabriella did well to take the third sport. The winner paid out a handsome dividend of Rs 968 on a tenner at the tote window.

Darius Byramji-trained Cosmos was backed to the exclusion of his 11 rivals in the Astounding Plate. The bred in the purple contestant provided Zervan an arm-chair ride to success cantering home without breaking a sweat. Another Rainbow gained the runner-up berth nosing out Perfectgoldenera while Mariachi leisurely ran in to fill the frame.

In the opening event, the lower division of the Malakpet Plate the strongly fancied She`s Superb piloted by Hyderabad ace Akshay Kumar proved too good while Cashmere from Samar Singh's yard piloted by J Chinoy dropped a bombshell in the upper division pegging back the favourite Regal Force who broke a blood vessel during the race.
