After losing out big on Saturday, most punters recouped a big percentage of their losses, four firm favourites nailing bold colours to the mast in the six-event card on Sunday, Apart from the 30 to one long shot, Reckoning, who stunned the railbirds in the opening event and the lesser fancied Prince Purple, winner of the plum event, the followers of form had the better of exchanges and returned home satisfied with the results unlike the knock-out blow they suffered on Saturday. 

On the strength of his impressive third behind runner-up Rmedieofspring, who bolted in on the opening day of the season at the Blue Mountains, Rubert from trainer Sebastian's yard was backed to the exclusion of his seven rivals in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve Cup run over a sprint, but the on-money favourite found the Suresh-trained debutant Prince Purple and the runner-up Lebua too hot to handle and had to rest content with the third spot. The winner piloted by Sai Kumar appears a goodtype of youngster and more will be heard of this son of Planetaire in the months ahead. 

Demesthenes from trainer Ramanathan's yard and  Kings Show from the stables of Uthaiah garnered the maximum support in the Bold Appeal handicap. The former on the strength of his brilliant final preparatory gallop and more importantly with his spot on look in the paddock parade was preferred and ended up a firm favourite before the 10 contestants came under the starter's flag for the 1300 metres event. Imran Khan guiding the fortunes of Kings Show after gaining a favourable position early on in the race stole a march at the top of the straight before apprentice jockey Gaurav Singh packed punch on the top fancy and Demesthenes stormed up to collar the leader close home and register an impressive win much to the relief of all the favourite supporters. Trending Princess caught the eye while finishing third behind the runner-up Kings Show and is one for the notebook. 

A trifle disappointed losing out to Demesthenes close home, Imran Khan in the next event, the upper division of the Alfonso Handicap produced his best on the public choice Abilitare from trainer Fahad Khan's yard. The  leading pro in a never-say-die bid pushed and whipped the overwhelming favourite to stay in contention for most part of the seven furlongs trip before the public choice raised a winning gallop in the final furlong to peg back Lady Blazer. Second in demand at the betting ring, Salvador from James McKeown's yard dropped his rider Umesh soon after the start and this made the task of Abilitare much easier at the end. In the lower event, Reckoning from Uthaiah's yard floored the followers of form coming up tops after gracing the wrong end of the field for most part of the seven furlongs trip. The winner piloted by Sai Vamshi appears in fine nick and it will pay to support the filly from Uthaiah's yard again when saddled next. 

The topweighted Sweet Fragrance from Krishna's yard proved too good in the Gentlemens Deal Handicap  run over a distance of nine furlongs. The strongly supported winner was on the ball all through the long journey before calling the shots when the race came on a boil to the delight of the followers of form, who had punted big on the Krishna ward. 

Umesh who punched home Sweet Fragrance needed to stretch every sinew to help Off Shore Breeze justify favouritism in the next event , the Ship Rock Handicap run over the tricky 1500 metres event. The winner was flat out while edging out Star Symbol in a close finish. The runner-up who earned his winning bracket on the second day of the season did produce his best in his effort to record his second straight success, but the genuine effort was just not good enough to stop Off Shore Breeze from standing tall at the podium.
