Trainer Rajesh Narredu leading Galaticus (P Trevor Up), winner of The Hoysala Trophy

The top two saddle artistes on the leader board, Srinath and Trevor Patel produced exemplary efforts to the delight of the racing buffs, the former recording a popular double on Thunderstruck and The Inheritor, while Trevor recorded a grand treble, booting home the two public choices Mr Humble and Galacticus before he guided home the lesser fancied Galactical to a pillar to post victory in the penultimate event.

The Prithviraj schooled Mr Humble garnered the maximum support in the Kaveri Plate run over a sprint. The strongly fancied public choice partnered by Trevor looked in a spot of bother, the moment Lucky Again from Neil Devaney's yard stole a march at the top of the straight and established a clear three-length advantage approaching the distance post before Trevor in a never-say-die bid packed punch on the favourite and the top fancy slowly yet surely bridged the gap before gaining the day at the shadow of the winning post. Perfect Halo finished third ahead of Country's Jewel who has improved and is certain to make his presence felt in the lowest category.

On the strength of her impressive performances on the trial track, Galaticus from Rajesh Narredu's yard was fancied most in the Hoysala Trophy for juveniles run over a sprint. And the bred in the purple filly made every post a winning one in the hands of Trevor. Treasure Chest from Dominic's yard piloted by Srinath shared favouritism with Galaticus at the start before the Rajesh ward closed firm favourite and justified her top billing in emphatic fashion. Super Sapphire from father Satish Narredu's yard followed the winner home, while Serai did well to save money in place. Treasure Chest after being favourably placed till heads turned for home failed to quicken and eventually finished in the ruck.

In line for a treble, Trevor astride Galactical from Pradeep Annaiah's yard  produced a stellar pillar to post effort to reign supreme in the upper division of the Vedavati Plate run over a sprint. Golden Vision from Satish Narredu's yard was strongly fancied to come out on top, but the public choice after tracking Galactical for most part of the six furlongs trip lacked the gas in the tank to make an impression in the final two furlongs and finished way down the field. Starry Wind gained the runner-up berth ahead of Extraordinary, while Anakin completed the frame. The lower division of the event saw the solidly backed favourite, The Inheritor edge out the speedy Lauterbrunnen and Mystic Eye in a close finish. Srinath astride the winner was at his best, driving the Sharath Kumar ward hard to clinch the issue in the final few strides.

Earlier, Srinath guiding the fortunes of another overwhelming favourite Thunderstruck struck it rich in the lower division of the Half A Crown Plate run over a distance of seven furlongs, pegging back the belated effort of Able One from the stables of Azhar Ali. Jagadeesh partnering the runner-up, it was clear could well have upset the applecart of Thunderstruck had he alerted and packed punch on the runner-up a shade earlier. Sacred Creator was fancied most in place by the right connections and the five-year-old mare made sure that her supporters were rewarded, finishing third ahead of Princess Jasmine. The upper division was claimed by Win My Luv from Neil Devaney's yard who proved too good sailing home by a wide margin of more than seven lengths. Aherne finished second, while the well-backed Almanach and the lesser fancied Augusto took a lot of good money down the drain, the former failing to break level from the gates, while Augusto dislodged his jockey Akshay Kumar before the race came on a boil.

A fine second behind Stellar Gold in his last effort, My Vision from Inayathullah's yard was fancied to upset the applecart of the favourite Aquamatic in the Shivanasamudra Falls Trophy and the game galloper did just that, producing a sparkling gallop in the final furlong to romp home in style. Aquamatic who was fancied most on the strength of his eye-catching effort in his last essay was never in the hunt. Twilight Tornado finished on purposefully at end to take the second spot ahead of Eco Friendly and it will not be long before this Neil Devaney trainee earns his cornbill.
