Trainer PRATAP KAMATH M leading DARING DYNAMITE (R RAVI Up), winner of THE COMMITTEE CUP

Daring Dynamite, a prodigy of the deceased stallion Midtown, made a smashing debut at Mysore on Wednesday. Pratap Kamath-trained Daring Dynamite won The Committee Cup by a lengthening margin. Khwaish was sent into the race as the favourite with some spirited betting coming her way but Daring Dynamite had his share of supporters as well. Daring Dynamite hit the front from the start, closely followed by the stablemate Aerial Acrobat and Khwaish.

Entering the home stretch, Daring Dynamite picked up speed and stretched out, leaving behind Aerial Acrobat and Khwaish. Pratap Kamath and R.Ravi had started the day with rank-outsider Maratha Conqueror (Major Impact – Lovermore), in The Treasure’s Nest Plate, the opening race of the day. Latin Twister brought the field into the straight, with Nano Blue and Maratha Conqueror racing about three lengths behind. Maratha Conqueror surged ahead in the last 250 metres and won the race comfortably.

Nano Blue also made an attempt but failed to catch the ultimate winner and finished second. Evanston (Gaswar – Baywatch), with a late burst of speed, surged past the field to win The Nagarahole Plate, a race for horses rated 60 and above. Bucethalis and Always for You raced in front nearing the last 300 metres and as the duo were trying to out-beat the other, Turf Raider and Evanston began to improve on the far side and the latter skipped away to surprise everyone. Turf Raider, Always for You and Bucethalis filled the board. Trainer Vikram Appachu had a brace with Marianella (Hymn – Able Princess) and Hampton Court (San Francisco – Golden Collection) winning back-to-back races. Marianella and Authoritative went past Worth A Diamond and got to fight out the issue inside the last 300 metres.

Authoritative started to drift out and lost all his chances while Marianella kept a straight course to win the lower division of The Bandipur Plate. Hampton Court, with a run on day one of the winter season, made best of it and skipped away from Gypsy’s Advise, to win the lower division of The Pandavapura Plate. A lot of money came on Gypsy’s Advise who was backed from sevens to 5 to 2 at race time. Behram finished a tame third. Trainer Ravi Shanker was the other professional who had a double. Aaj Tak, Stellar star and Faustian got in a line near the 400 metres and the last named travelled the best and drew away to win The K.R.S. Plate by a big margin of over seven lengths.

Jockey V.R. Jagadeesh had his woes on Major Impression in the straight but nevertheless he could not have troubled the winner. On top of the straight, Jagadeesh lost his reins and took some time to gather them before making a late dash to finish second. Milagro (Glory Of dancer – Princelene) gave Ravi Shanker his double, when he won The Sakaleshpur Plate. Milagro passed the relentless Prince Of Argyle midway up the straight and staved off the late challenge of Mr. Sunrise. All For Cash (Royal Kingdom – Am Capable) galloped with telling strides to get past Precept and Satin Slipper, in the higher division of The Bandipur Plate. Happiness, Satin Slipper and Chamcha In Chief filled the frame in a close finish.

Precept was cramped for room in between Satin Slipper and the inner rails and dropped the rider at 100 metres from home. C.D. Monnappa’s Lotus Pond (Juniper – Loving Girl) breezed past Noble Sacrifice and won the higher division of The Pandavapura Plate, the last race of the day.
