Racing Incidents
STRIDE TO STRIKE (Surjeet Singh) was very fractious in the gates thereby delaying the start of the race. CORVINO (S Paswan) was slow to begin, losing approximately 2 lengths. Mr. D M David, the trainer of HIGH REGARD, the winner, was questioned regarding the improved performance of his charge as compared to its previous run in Race No. 35 (The Fire Flash Handicap) run on 24th January, 2008 where it ran unplaced. The trainer stated that the following factors may have been advantageous to the gelding in the race :- a) The gelding was running in a lower class. b) Addition of Tongue Strap and Blinkers seemed to have had a positive effect. c) He claimed an allowance of 2 ½ kgs. d) The gelding was the youngest horse in the field.
