Racing Incidents
Tr. Mr. J Stephens and Jockey M Maseyk were questioned regarding the running and riding of b g ENTREPRENEUR. The trainer stated that he instructed the rider to keep his mount in a handy position and thereafter do his best on entering the home stretch. He was disappointed that his charge was tardy on jumping out of the gates as the gelding had never behaved in such a manner earlier. The jockey stated, that on jumping out of the gates the gelding was not inclined to raise a fluent race gallop. The Stipendiary Stewards while not being fully convinced with the explanation tendered by the jockey, decided to give him the benefit of a grave doubt. They, however, ordered that the gelding be shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race before next being accepted in a race.
