CATCHPHRASE (P Trevor), ALIENATION (N S Parmar), ROYAL BLUE STAR (C Alford) and RITHAMBHRA (App Mohit Singh) were fractious while being stalled.

FLAMINGO FANTASY (I Khan) was slow to begin losing approximately two lengths at the start.

Jockey M F Ali Khan, the rider of ch g BEETHOVEN, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount, stated that he was instructed to be positioned 5^th/6^th and do his best in the straight, however, in spite of his best efforts the gelding refused to raise a fluent gallop in the final 400 metres of the race.  The gelding was impounded for veterinary examination and  on examination the Veterinary Officer reported that no ailment was noticed.  In view of its performance Tr. Shafiq Khan was informed not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.
