Racing Incidents

ACCOAST (M Krishna) and BLUE MOUNTAIN (Gajender Singh) were fractious while being stalled.

Before the start was effected b c BREAK THE HABIT (Deep Shanker) dislodged its rider in its stall and galloped around the course.  Under the circumstances the colt was withdrawn with the permission of the Stewards before coming under Starter’s orders.  The Starting Stall Certificate of the colt has been revoked by the Starter.

TIGANA (N S Parmar), BLUE MOUNTAIN (Gajender Singh) and LAKE STAR (Aadesh Kumar) were slow to begin.

A Stipendiary Stewards enquiry was held immediately after the running of the race with particular reference to the fall of  Jockey Sk Israil from his mount EXPLORER’S QUEST passing the 900 metres.  At the conclusion of the enquiry the Stipendiary Stewards were satisfied that the fall was accidental in that EXPLORER’S QUEST attempting to make  progress between the rails and ACCOAST (M Krishna) clipped the heels of the latter and dislodged its rider.  Hence they ordered the hoisting of the “ALL CLEAR” signal.

ch g ACCOAST (M Krishna) which subsequently ran detached from the field was examined by the Veterinary Officer who reported that the gelding returned with bleeding cut injury on  right hind.  Tr. R Gowli was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

App B Srinivas Rao when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount SUAVEMENTE, stated that he was instructed to place his mount along with the early leaders of the race and to do his best thereafter.  However, he was tardily out of the gates due to the fact that the horse was leaning back when the start was effected and thereafter on jumping out of the gates he was unable to  position his mount as instructed due to the crowding of the field.  Tr. D Karki corroborated the instructions given  and voiced his displeasure in the manner in which his mount was handled by the apprentice.  The Stipendiary Stewards after reviewing the CCTV replay of the race and taking into consideration that the horse had not raced for a period of over four months decided to take no further action beyond advising App B Srinivas Rao be more alert at the start.
