App Ajoy Roy, the rider of ARKTOUROS, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that he was instructed to go to the front if circumstances permitted or be positioned 4th/5th and thereafter  to gradually improve his position.  He further stated that during the early stages of the race despite his best efforts he was unable to follow the trainer’s instructions as the initial pace of the race was too fast.  When queried  by the Stipendiary Stewards as to the reason why he made no effort to hold the position he attained in the early stages of the race and the reason why he dropped his hands in the concluding stages of the race,  the apprentice was  unable to give any explanation.  The Stipendiary Stewards  informed the apprentice that he must make every effort within reason throughout the running of the race to place his mount in a position of advantage as instructed by the trainer.  Tr. Vijay Singh was informed that his horses should be ridden in such manner that leaves no room for query. 

 

App Kishen Singh, the rider of ROMANTIC IMPACT, was reprimanded for travelling five horses wide off the running rails for no apparent reason and for making no effort to correct the lapse.  The apprentice was further informed that should he ride in a similar manner in future he would be dealt with appropriately and advised to report to Mr. N Bird, the Jockey Coach for appropriate corrective measures.

 

Jockey Vinay Jaiswal, the rider of ARBROATH, reported that his mount was inclined to run ‘out’ throughout the race.  Tr. Bharath Singh was advised to take appropriate remedial measures before accepting with his charge again.

 

The Veterinary Officer reported that ANGELO returned bleeding from both nostrils.  Tr. D M David was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
