KING ARTHUR (App Vikash Tamang) was slow to begin.

Passing the 400 metres marker DANCE IN CHINA (App Ajoy Roy) drifted to the outer portion of the race track.  At a subsequent enquiry App Ajoy Roy in the presence of his master Tr. Vijay Singh was shown the CCTV replay of the race and fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/- for failing to make any effort to keep his mount on an even course.  The apprentice was further informed that should he continue to make no effort to keep his mounts on an even course he would be reported to the Stewards for appropriate action.

App Vikash Tamang, the rider of gr g KING ARTHUR which trailed the field in the early and middle stages of the race, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount, stated that he was instructed to be positioned 3^rd/4^th in the early and middle stages of the race and come home the shortest way.   However, he did not place the horse under undue pressure in the early stages as he was not confident with the fluency of the gelding’s stride.  The gelding was impounded for veterinary examination and on immediate examination no ailment was noticed.  However, when examined in the morning of 29^th March, 2012, the gelding was found to be lame on right fore.  The Stipendiary Stewards taking into consideration the  report given by the Veterinary Officer decided not to proceed further into the matter.  Tr. Patrick Quinn was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
