PINE VALLEY (Vinay Jaiswal) and MELODY BELLE (Ajoy Roy) were slow to begin.

Jockey Shezad Khan, the rider of ANNIE HALL, was fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/- for the excessive use of whip on his mount (1st offence).

Mr. Vikash Jaiswal, the trainer of ch h PINE VALLEY, when afforded an opportunity to explain the poor performance of his charge as compared to its previous run in Race No. 37 run on 7th August, 2012 where it placed 2nd, stated that the stable fancied the horse’s chances in this race but  he was disappointed with its performance.  However, in hind sight the step down in the distances between the two races i.e., 1800 metres to 1400 metres in three days may have had a bearing on the performance, as his charge appeared to be running sluggish despite the attempts of the jockey to ride a forward race as instructed.  Jockey Vinay Jaiswal when questioned was of the similar view as that of the trainer.  The Stipendiary Stewards noted the explanations and advised Tr. Vikash Jaiswal to ensure that his charges run with a degree of consistency between runs.
