b g EROS (I Khan) which was slow to begin refused to raise a fluent gallop soon after the start and thereafter trailed the field home.   The gelding was impounded for veterinary examination and on examination the Veterinary Officer reported that no ailment was noticed.  Tr. D M David was informed not to accept with his charge until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in a mock race.

Passing the 800 metres b g PRINCE CYRUS (App Ajoy Roy) travelling along the rails at the head of the field was checked by its rider and lost some ground when YAMLAPAGLADEEWANA (Afzal Khan) and  EVENING MIST (M F Ali Khan) were improving on its outside.  At a subsequent enquiry App Ajoy Roy stated that he was instructed by the trainer to take the gelding on a start to finish mission, however, he had to check his mount passing the 800 metres when tightened for room by  YAMLAPAGLADEEWANA  and  EVENING MIST.  Tr. D Karki when questioned corroborated the instructions given and stated that he had emphasized to the apprentice that his charge runs best when ridden in front of the field.  He further informed the Stipendiary Stewards that he was disappointed with the apprentice’s efforts to maintain his forward position.  At the conclusion of the enquiry the Stipendiary Stewards were of the opinion that the apprentice made no effort to follow the trainer’s instructions when he had every opportunity to do so and, therefore,  fined him a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for injudicious riding

Jockey Imran Chisty, the rider of dk b m VENCE, reported that his mount was not striding freely during different stages of the race.  The mare was impounded for veterinary examination and on examination the Veterinary Officer reported that no ailment was noticed.  Tr. Javed Khan was advised to keep his charge under observation and report ailment, if any.

The Veterinary Officer reported that ROCK THE STARS returned bleeding from both nostrils.  Tr. D Byramji was advised not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Sr. Veterinary Officer.
