TOUGH ONE (N S Parmar) and SPARTACUS (Sk Israil) were slow to begin.

Trainer E Bhungard when afforded an opportunity to explain the improved performance of his charge b g APICAL FINALA the winner of this race as compared to its previous run i.e.  Race No. 94 held on 26^th December, 2012 stated  (i) he was informed by the rider immediately after the previous race that the gelding  had not performed well as the tongue strap (TS) had fallen off during the running of the race.  (ii) The gelding now ran over a distance of 1100 metres which is more suitable to it  than its earlier race which had been run over 1400 metres  (iii) The opposition in this race was of mediocre capabilities.  The Stipendiary Stewards after the discussions, fined trainer E. Bhungard a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for failing to adhere to Rule No.  167 (c) of the RCTC Rules of Racing i.e.  “Should anything which might have any bearing on the past or the future running of the horse come to the notice of the trainer, it must be reported as soon as practicable to the Stewards“ and Rule No. 167 (d) “Any loss or breakage of gear during a race, or any unusual happening in connection therewith, shall be reported by the owner and/or trainer and/or rider to the Stewards immediately after the race.”
