ABRIELLA (Shailesh Shinde) was slow to begin.

Passing the winning post b h UNLEASHED (Jockey C Alford) fell dislodging its rider.  On immediate veterinary examination the horse was found to have sustained a fracture on left shoulder and as such was put down on humanitarian grounds.  Jockey C Alford was examined by the Medical Officer who declared him unfit to ride for the day.  Further, he referred the jockey to the panel of Doctors who after thorough evaluation the same evening declared him fit to continue with his riding engagements for the following day.  The Stipendiary Stewards  on enquiring into the circumstances leading to the fall of the horse were satisfied that the fall was caused by the careless riding of Jockey R Hughes (ASTAPI) in that some distance after passing the winning post he shifted ‘outwards’ into the path of DROP OF HONEY (S John) whose rider taking evasive action shifted ‘out’ and bumped UNLEASHED causing the horse to fall.  Jockey R Hughes was fined a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for the lapse.
