Racing Incidents

DIVINE SYMPHONY (Nelson Maseyk) was fractious while being stalled.

RAPPADAN GLORY (App Rajinder Singh) which was fractious in its stall was slow to begin.

AMIKA (Y S Srinath) was slow to begin.

Jockey Y S Srinath, the rider of AMIKA, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that the filly jumped tardily out of the gates and thereafter it was hemmed in due to the crowding of the field.  However, during the final 300 metres when  given a clear run the filly failed to respond to his urgings.  He further added that in his opinion the high humidity level may have hampered the filly’s performance.  Ms. Arti Doctor, the trainer,  when questioned stated that the filly returned without a sign of any sweat on its coat and that this could be the reason for its dismal performance.  The Stipendiary Stewards noted their explanations.
