b h BATISTA was examined by the Veterinary Officer at the saddling enclosure and found to be lame on right fore.  Under the circumstances the horse was withdrawn on veterinary grounds.  Tr. C Gleich was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

Approaching the distance post ROYAL HONOUR (App Zarar Alam) under pressure with whip drifted to the outer portion of the rack track and again passing the distance post under the use of the whip the gelding violently shifted ‘inwards’.  At a subsequent enquiry App Zarar Alam was shown the CCTV replay of the race and fined a sum of Rs. 2,500/- for the improper use of the whip thereby causing his mount to keep an erratic course.  He was further advised to report to Jockey Coach for appropriate corrective measures.
