AMBICKA (App Md. Azharuddin) was led early to the start.

An enquiry was held immediately after the running of the race with particular reference to the fall of Jockey Nelson Maseyk, the rider b m ETERNAL INSTINCT passing the 800 metres. The incident was referred to the Stewards for further enquiry, however, the ‘all clear’ signal for the race was hoisted. The Stewards conducted an enquiry after the last race and found Jockey Arshad Alam, the rider of dk b f COMMELINA, guilty of infringement of Rule 161(i) “careless riding” of the RCTC Rules of Racing in that when he was travelling wide off the field approaching the 800 metres and not being adequately clear of the other runners he shifted ‘inwards’ for no apparent reason causing ETERNAL INSTINCT (Nelson Maseyk) travelling along the rails to clip the heels of his mount and stumble thereby dislodging Jockey Nelson Maseyk. The Stewards when deciding the quantum of punishment took into consideration Jockey Arshad Alam’s record and decided to suspend the Jockey from riding in races on 16th, 20th, 23rd & 27th August 2014. Jockey Arshad Alam was informed of his right to appeal.

Jockey Nelson Maseyk was examined by the Medical Officer and declared fit to ride.

App Md. Azharuddin, the rider of AMBICKA, reported loss of his whip approaching the 300 metres. The apprentice was severely reprimanded for the undesirable practice of repeatedly dropping his whip.
