Jockey Shailesh Shinde, the rider of ALCANDER, reported that he found it difficult to control his mount in the early stages of the race due to his mount taking hold of its bit and was inclined to run erratically.

Some distance after the start HOME AL ONE (B Mahesh, drawn 9) was momentarily inconvenienced by BENGAL KING (Sameer Khan, drawn 8).

RAZNANDAN (Md Imran) and SEREGEANT MAJOR (Afzal Khan) finished the race detached from the field.

Jockey B Mahesh, the rider of HOME ALONE, was reprimanded in t he presence of Tr. Patrick Quinn for the indifferent handling of his mount.

Immediately after the running of the race the Stipendiary Stewards enquired into the start with particular reference to the slow beginning of ch g BENGAL KING (Sameer Khan, drawn 8) from the gates. Tr. Shafiq Khan stated that the gelding in its two previous outings was slow to begin and despite him taking corrective measures the gelding stood flat footed inside the gate as the start was effected. Jockey Sameer Khan corroborated t he explanations as expressed by the trainer. The Stipendiary Stewards after repeatedly viewing CCTV replay of the race and keeping in view the previous tardy starting record of the gelding, decided while giving the benefit of doubt to the jockey in this instance in that he showed no urgency to alert his mount to its task from the gate, informed the trainer not to accept with the gelding in future races until shown to the satisfaction of the Stipendiary Stewards in two mock races .
