Jockey P Kamlesh when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount ARCHIE stated that he was instructed to be well positioned in the field. He was disappointed that the gelding did not show any inclination to improve its position and finished the race most disappointingly in spite of his efforts. Tr. S S Habbu when asked to give reason for the poor performance of his charge stated he was extremely disappointed as he expected a better performance from the gelding. He continued by stating that the gelding did not show any signs of distress on return to the unsaddling enclosure and assured the Stipendiary Stewards that would keep his charge under observation and report ailment, if any. The Stipendiary Stewards noted their explanations and the gelding was impounded for clinical examination.

The Veterinary Officer reported that CHEMIN DE FER returned with a cut injury on right hind.
