AMBICKA (App Zarar Alam) arrived late to the start thereby delaying the proceedings of the race. Tr. R W Alford was advised to ensure that his charge arrives in time to the start.

SELENA (Jugnu Gurung) which was fractious while being stalled reared up and fell dislodging its rider and sustained cut injuries on head and nose. Jockey Jugnu Gurung was also injured in the incident. Under the circumstances the filly was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s orders. Tr. Patrick Quinn was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer and shown to the satisfaction of the Starter in a barrier trial during the hours of morning track work. Jockey Jugnu Gurung was taken to the hospital for further medical management.

Tr. C Gleich when afforded an opportunity to explain the improved performance of his charge PRINCESS THEA (Shrikant Kamble) as compared to its previous run in Race No. 21 held on 15th November, 2014 when it placed off board, stated that :-

a) Race No. 21 run over a distance of about 1400 metres was the filly’s first run after a break from racing of approximately 9 months.

b) Today’s race was run over a distance of 1100 metres which suited the filly. Other than this he had no further explanation to offer.

The Stipendiary Stewards took note of his explanation.

The Veterinary Officer reported that DON MAGNIFICO returned bleeding from both nostrils. Tr. Sabeel Shariff was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.
