Passing the 600 metres MIDNIGHT MAGIC (Sandeep Rajput) travelling along the rails was checked by its rider and lost ground when squeezed for room due to a tightly packed field.

The Veterinary Officer reported that MIDNIGHT MAGIC returned to the unsaddling enclosure with a cut injury on its left hind and without its left hind shoe.An enquiry was held immediately after the running of the race with particular reference to the fall of ch c CHANDON (N S Parmar) passing the 600 metres. After due enquiry it was established that the fall was accidental and no blame could be attached to any rider. The Veterinary Officer reported that the colt had suffered from a cardio vascular/pulmonary shock and died. The ‘All Clear’ signal was ordered to be hoisted. Jockey N S Parmar was given immediate medical attention and shifted to the hospital for further medical management.
