Racing Incidents

LEGENDS ORDER (Vikash Tamang) ran detached from the field. Tr. Vikash Jaiswal was advised to get his charge examined by the Veterinary Officer and report ailment, if any. Subsequent to the race day the Veterinary Officer reported that on examination of the gelding no ailment was noticed.

Jockey Kiran Naidu, the rider of ALICANTE, was fined a sum of Rs. 1,000/- for the excessive use of the whip (1st offence).

Tr. Vikash Jaiswal when questioned as to the reason why he had removed the ‘blinkers’ from his charge MODUS VIVENDI in this race, stated that, after its win in its previous race i.e., Race No. 149 with the ‘blinkers on’, he was of the opinion that the mare would perform even better without the equipment and hence he had the ‘blinkers’ removed. The Stipendiary Stewards informed Mr. Vikah Jaiswal that the ‘ON’ and “OFF” of equipment on a race horse especially one that had performed very well in its previous run must be seriously thought over. Therefore, in the case of MODUS VIVENDI should he desire to use the ‘blinkers’ once again he would have to personally meet the Stipendiary Stewards to seek their approval.
