HEIRLOOM (Kiran Naidu) was slow to begin.

Jockey Shailesh Shinde, the rider of NEVER APART, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that he was instructed to place his mount at the head of the field. However, should the pace of the race be very fast he was then to be positioned in 3rd/4th place. He further stated that he was well positioned till approaching the five furlong wherein the filly dropped the ‘bit’ causing her to lose much ground and raced at the rear of the field. On questing Tr. Javed Khan corroborated his instructions to the jockey. The Stipendiary Stewards after viewing the CCTV replay of the race and not being satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Shailesh Shinde in so much between the 1000 metre marker and 800 metre marker he made no attempt to hold or improve his position when he had every opportunity to do so, decided to fine him a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for the unsatisfactory riding on his mount.
