Farley Rodrigues when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his charge ch f MARILYN with particular reference to the final 400 metres of the race opined that Apprentice Zarar Alam could have been more vigorous in his riding and should have used the whip to remind the filly of its task. App Zarar Alam on questioning stated that the reason he was unable to ride the filly to complete advantage was due to his mount’s inclination to “hang out”. The Stipendiary Stewards after reviewing the CCTV replay of the race in the presence of both the Trainer and the Apprentice advised and cautioned them that all horses under their care should be ridden to complete advantage failing which appropriate action would have to be taken.
