MURLOUGH BAY (A Ashhad Asbar) arrived late to the start thereby delaying the proceedings of the race. Tr. R W Alford was advised to ensure that his charge arrives on time in future.

ANAROSA (B Mahesh) and ANTONIUS MAXIMUS (Vinay Jaiswal) were slow to begin.

Tr. R W Alford when afforded an opportunity to explain the improved performance of his charge MURLOUGH BAY as compared to its previous run in Race No. 35 on 24th November, 2015 stated that :-

a) Requested the Stipendiary Stewards to refer to his recorded statements for Race No. 35.
b) After its run in Race No. 35 on 24th November, the filly was scoped by the Club’s consultant Veterinarian Dr. Hasnain Mirza who diagnosed a palate displacement in the filly and advised the use of a tongue strap and to increase the exercise of the filly. The Doctor further advised that should the filly not perform well in today’s race he would then operate on the palate of the filly.
c) He increased the work load of the filly as suggested by the Doctor. The use of the tongue strap had been done in its earlier run.
d) Today’s race was after a gap of 24 days and he had instructed the jockey to place his mount wherever possible and to do his best.
e) Considering its previous poor run the filly was not fancied by the Stable unlike in race No. 35 wherein it was very much fancied by the stable. He was pleasantly surprised with the victory.

On questioning Jockey A Ashhad Asbar corroborated the trainer’s instructions. The Stipendiary Stewards noted their explanations.
