Racing Incidents

As App Md. Azharuddin was declared medically unfit to ride, Tr. Farley Rodrigues was permitted to substitute Jockey Sk Israil to ride his charge BENGAL PRINCESS.

BENGAL PRINCESS (Sk Israil) was extremely fractious while being stalled. Under the circumstances the filly was withdrawn before coming under Starter’s orders. Tr. Mr. Farley Rodrigues was informed not to accept with his charge unless shown to the satisfaction of the Starter in a barrier trial during the hours of morning track work.

STUDIOFIFTYFOUR (Mohit Singh) was slow to begin.

Jockey Afzal Khan, the rider of WORDS which was leading the field into the final 400 metres of the race was observed to be repeatedly looking back. On enquiring as to the reasons why he did so he was unable to give an adequate reason. The Stipendiary Stewards not being satisfied with his answer fined him a sum of Rs. 3,000/- for repeatedly looking back for no apparent reason.
