MONSIEUR STRAUSS (Vinay Jaiswal) which arrived late to the start thereby delaying the start of the race, was fractious in its stall. Tr. Vikash Jaiswal was once again advised to ensure that his charge arrives on time in future.

SIGNOR SASSI (App Hindu Singh) was slow to begin.

When afforded an opportunity to explain the poor performance of his charge b f REGAL as compared to its previous run in Race Nos. 109 and 141, trainer Mr. Vijay Singh stated that he had fancied his charge to win this race based on its earlier performances and had instructed the rider that his charge should be ridden in her usual manner i.e., start to finish. However, in his opinion the poor performance could be due to the the distance being a “little more sharper” than her previous two starts and also that she had received a stiff penalty for having won her last race. He was informed by the Jockey that the filly “just did not gallop once a couple of horses passed her”. The Stipendiary Stewards noted his explanation.

The Stipendiary Stewards enquired into the running and riding of gr g WARPATH. After interviewing Jockey Rajinder Singh and trainer Mr. Sabeel Shariff, viewing the CCTV replay of the race and not being satisfied with their explanations decided to :-

A) Fine Jockey Rajinder Singh a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for the unsatisfactory handling of his mount in that during the early and middle stages of the race he made no attempt to improve his position and during the final stages of the race he failed to infuse adequate vigour to his riding.

B) Fine trainer Mr. Sabeel Shariff a sum of Rs. 5,000/- for the unsatisfactory running of his charge. Further he was informed that the gelding in Race No. 32 had been indifferently handled by its then rider who was also taken to task.
