STUDIOFIFTYFOUR (Mohit Singh) was slow to begin.

Jockey Mohit Singh, the rider of STUDIOFIFTYFOUR, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that he was instructed to place the gelding in 3rd/4th position in the early stages of the race and to do his best thereafter. He further stated that due to the gelding throwing its head awkwardly it was slow into stride. Thereafter, in spite of his urgings in the early stages the gelding did not make much progress as it was inclined to hang ‘in’ onto the rails and on entering the straight he was able to make much progress in spite of its tendency to hang ‘in’. The Stipendiary Stewards after repeatedly viewing the CCTV replay of the race, decided to give the jockey the benefit of doubt regarding his explanation for the gelding’s slow start and informed him that his riding will be closely scrutinised in future.

Jockey C Alford, the rider of ROMANTIC SOCIETY, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that he was instructed to place the filly in 3rd/4th position in the early stages of the race and to do his best thereafter. He further stated that the filly despite being well positioned was unable to improve in spite of his best efforts. The Stipendiary Stewards noted his explanation.
