MY LADY LUCK (Vinay Jaiswal) and CHANCCY (App Sujit Kr Paswan) were slow to begin.

JESTER (Md Imran) which was fractious in its stall finished off the ra ce detached from the field. Tr. Vikash Jaiswal was advised not to accept with his charge until it was capable of a better performance.

Some distance after the start WIMBLE DON (Md Azharuddin) was checked by its rider and made to take evasive action when POLLYANA (App R S Bhati) shifted ‘ outwards ’ . At a subsequent enquiry App R S Bhati was shown the CCTV replay of the race and was fined a s um of Rs. 2,500/ - for careless riding.

An enquiry was held into the improved performance of DANCING PRINCE (P S Chouhan), the winner of this race, as compared to its previous run in Race No. 167. Tr. Vikash Jaiswal stated that : -

a) P rior to Race No. 167 the gelding had been treated for maxillary sinus infection and that this could have been the reason for its poor performance in that race .

b) The gelding was now performing over a much shorter distance than in Race No. 167 (1400 metres).

c) The runnin g pattern in both the races was similar .

The Stipen diary Stewards after reviewing the running of th e animal in its previous outi ngs were not satisfied with the ex planation of the Trainer in that s hould he have had any doubt as to the fitness of the animal in Race No. 167, it was his duty then not t o accept with the gelding in that race , and therefore, decided to fine M r. Vikash Jaiswal a sum of Rs. 15,000/ - for the inconsistent running of his charge.

The Veterinary Officer reported that CHANCCY returned bleeding from both nostrils. Tr. R V Gowli was informed not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the V eterinary Officer.
