AVEBURY (Hindu Singh) arrived late to the start thereby delaying the proceedings of the race. Tr. J E Mckeown was advised to ensure that his charge arrives on time in future.

An enquiry was held immediately after the running of the race with particular reference to the fall of AVEBURY (Hindu Singh) passing the 800 metres and DUKE (S Zervaan) during the concluding stages of the race. At the conclusion of the enquiry it was established that both the falls were accidental and no blame could be attached to any rider. The ‘All Clear’ signal was ordered to be hoisted. Both the Jockeys were given immediate medical attention and Jockey Hindu Singh was declared unfit to ride for his remaining engagements of the day. Jockey S Zervaan was declared medically fit to ride. b g DUKE sustained severe fracture on right shoulder and was euthanized on humanitarian grounds.
