VALLERYSTHAL (A Sandesh) was fractious while being stalled.

Jockey Md Imran, the rider of ch g PUGNACIOUS, when afforded an opportunity to explain the running of his mount stated that on dismounting after the race he noticed the bleeding of the animal through the nostril and indicated the same to the handler of the horse. The Stipendiary Stewards requested the Sr. Veterinary Officer to examine the gelding and confirm the same. As the gelding had left the unsaddling enclosure for its stable, the gelding was endoscoped later that evening and was found to have bled throughout the trachea. The Stipendiary Stewards have opened an enquiry into this incident and further informed Tr. Vikash Jaiswal not to accept with his charge until certified fit by the Veterinary Officer.

During  the  course  of  the  enquiry  Tr.  Vikash  Jaiswal  informed    that  neither  him,  the  Syce  or  the Jemadar had noticed or were told by the Jockey that the gelding PUGNACIOUS had bled. The same was confirmed by the other two gentlemen i.e., Syce and Jemadar.  The Stipendiary Stewards taking into account the Veterinary Doctor’s confirmation of the animal having bled though the entire length of  the  trachea  and  having  informed  Tr.  Vikash  Jaiswal  of  the  veterinary  ban  imposed  on  the  horse reminded the Trainer of Rule No. 167(b) i.e., “The owner and/or trainer and/or rider shall report to the Stewards as soon as practicable anything thatmight have affected the running of the horse in a race”and decided not to take any further action.
