BASHARAT (R S Bhati), CRITERIA (Shezad Khan) and HOUTZEN (Arman Khan) were slow to begin.

BASHARAT (R S Bhati) was switched out by its rider passing the 1200 metres due to a tightly packed field, causing interference to HOUTZEN (Arman Khan) on his outside.

ROMANTIC ZEAL (App Hasib Alam) ran into the heels of a rapidly dropping back SPIRITUAL (Afzal Khan) with the apprentice rather carelessly switching course to the outside bumping BASHARAT (R S Bhati) who in turn bumped into CRITERIA (Shezad Khan). Further, ROMANTIC ZEAL drifted ‘in’ in the concluding stages of the race, once again interfering with BASHARAT. App Hasib Alam was fined a sum of Rs. 3,000/- for the same and master Trainer Mr. Vijay Singh was advised to guide his apprentice to be more careful in future.

JINSOKU (App P Tejeshwar) which was leading the field till about the 500 metres dropped back and finished the race detached from the field. The Veterinary Officer has been requested to examine the colt and report ailment, if any. Tr. Rutherford Alford was advised not to accept with his charge until it was capable of a better performance.

b m SPIRITUAL (Afzal Khan) was observed to drop back from about the 700 metres, eased up by its rider passing the final bend with the jockey dismounting at the distance post. The Veterinary Officer reported immediately after the race that the mare suffered from hindquarter lameness with signs of paraplegia. Subsequently the mare was given all possible veterinary care with necessary management but failed to recover and as such, was euthanized on humanitarian grounds in the evening the same day.
