At the request of Trainer Narendra Lagad, LOYAL TYCOON was examined on 0935 hours on 14/08/2011 and was found to sore by the left fore leg. As such, the gelding was certified unfit to race and hence withdrawn from the race on veterinary grounds. The gelding has to be passed fit by the Club’s V.O. before next accepting to race.

App.Kavraj Singh (TAG ALONG TOMMY) has been cautioned for taking up a position near 800 metres when there was insufficient room thereby inconveniencing WILD IMAGINATION (Ladjadj Stephane).

After the race, STYLISH STROKES was observed to have a cut injury at both the hock and ASHWA PRAHAR had a cut injury at the right fore outer bulb of heel. WILD IMAGINATION and CRESCENDO were found to be sound.

Trainer Narendra Lagad and Jockey Ladjadj Stephane were questioned regarding the running and riding of WILD IMAGINATIION. The Jockey was instructed to go to the front. He added that near 800 metres, TAG ALONG TOMMY (App.Kavraj Singh) shifted out and interfered with him and when he came into the straight there was no gap for him to take and when the gap opened on his inside he took it. The Stipendiary Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered and they will be enquiring further into the matter and will submit a report shortly.

The Stewards at their meeting held on Sunday, 28^th August, 2011 considered further report from the Stipendiary Stewards on the above subject. They interviewed Jockey Ladjadj Stephane and Trainer Narendra Lagad and having considered all the submissions made and having viewed the video recording of the race, the Stewards were not satisfied with the explanation tendered by Jockey Ladjadj Stephane. However, the Stewards decided to give him the benefit of the doubt for “unsatisfactory riding” and held him guilty of riding an ill-judged race. In that, his instructions were to hit the front, however, he did not make sufficient efforts to hit the front. Thereafter, passing 400 metres when a gap opened up on the inside, he waited for too long and then took the gap when it was too late. Therefore, the Stewards decided to suspend his Jockey’s license w.e.f. 16^th September, 2011 to 17^th September, 2011 (both days inclusive) and to fine him a sum of Rs.10,000/- for riding an ill-judged race (permitted to ride work/mock race).

Further, the Stewards also held him guilty of misbehavior in the Stewards Room. However, keeping in mind that you had subsequently tendered an apology, the Stewards took a lenient view and decided to severely caution you for the future.
